Sayframe privacy policy

Last updated July 4, 2026. Sayframe is a local-first voice-to-text app for Mac. This page explains what stays on your Mac, what only happens when you opt in, and how support works.

Local-first dictation

Sayframe is designed so everyday dictation can run on your Mac. Local Whisper models, Apple Speech when available, paste reliability settings, and the transcript Library are controlled on-device.

Optional cloud providers

Cloud transcription, AI cleanup, and meeting-summary providers are off unless you enable them. If you connect a provider, its processing is governed by that provider and any keys are stored through macOS Keychain or the provider connection flow.

Transcript Library

Recent transcripts, imported files, retry state, and recovery records can be stored locally so you can copy, export, delete, or retry work. Sayframe does not need an account for free local dictation.

Diagnostics and support

If you contact support, you may choose to send your email address, device/app details, screenshots, logs, or a description of the issue. Do not send confidential recordings or transcripts unless support specifically asks for the minimum needed excerpt.

Purchases

Mac App Store purchases and subscription eligibility are handled by Apple. Sayframe may read StoreKit purchase state to unlock Pro features, but payment details stay with Apple.
